newbie install problems

Hi folks - new to RipX. I'm having installation issues. I installed 7.10 and get an error message "cannot open c:\users\ac66\documents\RipX\RipLists\RipList.riplist.tmp (2), then it closes.

Anyone know what the problem might be please? Many thanks, Alan

Hi Alan, I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties. Please could you answer the following questions:

  1. Which version of Windows are you using?
  2. When does this error message appear? (For example, as soon as you open RipX DAW?)

@dave thanks Dave - it's windows 11 pro up to date on updates, and the message occurs as soon as I double click the icon to open the program, before the program actually opens

Please could you answer the following questions:

  1. Do you have any programs installed that could be taking control over your Documents folder, such as OneDrive or Dropbox?
  2. Have you received any messages from your anti-virus software regarding RipX DAW?
  3. Do you have Controlled Folder Access enabled? More information about this can be found here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/security/defender-endpoint/controlled-folders?view=o365-worldwide
