I'm in my second week evaluating RipX DAW, and I'm impressed with what it can do. But after it's been running for awhile it no longer responds to the mouse or keyboard. I have to force quit the app and restart it when this happens.
Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?
We released a new version (7.1.0) last Wednesday that includes a fix for this issue. You can download it from https://hitnmix.com/downloads
I recommend uninstalling your existing version before installing this one.
Nope, still broken. The transport section (play, stop, etc.) still works, as does the RIPscripts, and clicking on notes in the center plays notes, but clicking anywhere else (song menu on left and controls menu on the right) doesn't acknowledge clicks at all. MacOS doesn't list the app as unresponsive, but it is.
Please could you answer the following questions:
-
Which version of macOS do you have installed?
-
How much RAM does your computer have?
-
How much available space do you have on your hard drive(s)?
- What is RipX doing just before this happens? For example, is it after you select notes, make a specific edit or apply a certain effect?
- When you say 'song menu' and 'controls menu', do you mean the Rips Panel and FX Panel?
To clarify - The Rips Panel and the Layers panel are unresponsive. The main menu is not particularly functional. If I choose "Close" from the File Menu, there is no error message, but the song that is open never closes. Likewise, I can click the selections in the Panels menu, but none of the panels react. If they are open, they don't close, and vice versa.
I've been unable to reproduce this issue with RipX DAW becoming partially unresponsive after being left for a long time with the same Energy Saver settings as you (as described in your emails to us). I will check with our development team to see how we can investigate this further.
Hey folx, This is happening to me as well!
MacOS Catalina - 10.15.7
2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

I am unable to drop/drag an audio file into RipX daw, I have tried various times in different ways and I have reinstalled the application several times. As soon as I drop/drag an audio file my RipX screen and finder screen freezes and I have to force quit RipX daw. I do not think this is a computer issue as I created multiple rips smoothly while I was using the trial version in April, it has been bugging out since the latest update.
I do have an old Mac but it is still running pretty smooth (I run upto 150 track Ableton projects smoothly). No messages are displayed, my application is just frozen.
I would really appreciate support asap as I really need to use RipX daw for a show in 2 weeks.
Peace and love,
siddhu
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties. It sounds like this is a different issue from the one above since it always happens, not just when your computer has been left for a long time.
Please could you answer the following questions:
- What is the version number of RipX DAW that you're using? (E.g. is it 7.1.0?)
- What is the year of the model of your Mac?
- Does this happen if you open the file by clicking 'File>Open' instead?
- Does it also happen with the test file attached to this post?
- Does it still happen after restarting your computer and when no other apps are open?
