I am using RipX DAW v7.5

Desired behavior: When the user selects a specific stem in the Layer panel, the notes in the stem should always remain visible, no matter what the volume/relative volume (muted, -infinity, -29, etc.) of the stem or what algorythm is used to vary the color opacity of the stem.

Background
I use RipX DAW to help learn bass guitar parts for songs. As I become more proficient with a song, I would like to mute the bass stem so that I can play the song in preparation for band practice/gigs. Unfortunately, once a stem volume is muted, the notes are no longer visible in the play window of RipX DAW (Opacity = 0, completely invisible). I used to get around this by selecting the bass guitar stem in the Layer panel and reducing bass guitar stem volume to -infinity or -29 (lowest available other than muted): the notes in the bass guitar stem would remain visible in the play window, but not audible. This is very helpful with timing and note duration as I learn the song. This doesn't seem to work with v7.5.

Example
Here are 2 screen shots showing note opacity of the selected bass stem on the same song with -infinity volume using RipXDAW v7.1 and (newly released) v7.5. You can see that the opacity of the selected bass stem using RipX DAW v7.5 is severely reduced vis-a-vis v7.1 making it difficult to follow the stem while learning. I'm not sure if this was an intentional change or bug, but please put in a request to change the stem opacity behavour back or to something that allows the notes in a selected stem to remain visible regardless or volume/relative volume.

FWIW - the stem volumes were at -infinity, not -29db

In version 7.5 notes are displayed as thin lines when the layer they belong to is muted so you no longer need to use your workaround of reducing the level.

Thank you for the quick reply, David. I hadn't noticed the thin note lines when a stem is muted. This seems like a good feature enhancement - much better than not seeing any notes when the stem is muted.

The drawback of the thinner note lines is that it makes it more difficult for my old eyes to see the notes when compared to the thick note lines.

I'm gathering this was an intentional change with v7.5, so I would make the following Enhancement Request: When a specific stem is selected in the layer panel, use the thick note lines at "normal" (0 db volume) opacity, even if the track is muted.

Thanks again!

Thanks for your feedback. I've passed it on to our development team.
