Nubie question..  yes I've FTFM. sorry couldn't find it.

How do I do a simple pitch change. i.e. changes speed and key together, like speeding up a tape.

Depending on how much of the track you want to change, you could do this by selecting the notes and grouping them with Cmd/Ctrl+G then changing the duration of the group (by clicking & dragging its left/right edge) and its pitch (by clicking & dragging it up/down). If you wish, you could also apply the 'Shift Formant' effect to it from the Pitch Panel.

Hi, Tried doing this and I can't work out how to group to
* change pitch to a whole song as it won't move (but I can do it for one layer grouped)
* change length as selecting the edge moves the notes.

What I expect I'm after is a rip script that maps a change of length as Tempo and changes the pitch at the same time (like on a record players pitch adjustment)?

Maybe I'm going about this wrong. I'm wanting to reduce time-stretch artefacts (the stem separating quality is noticeably better now with high quality!).

What I'm doing is preparing stems to mix in a performance setting (not drums as those are live). And if I need to reduce pitch (note only) and speed to prepare my stems I might as well do a plain old record player style pitch reduction and not have artefacts?

Todays artefacts are in vocals, a noise hum going up to about 350hz. If I highPass I loose the warm/body and if I filter background it become too thin. hum.

Also -soz.. How do I get rid of the effect overlay (with animation spline) that is over the low freq and unpitched area in the main editing note display please?

You should be able to change the pitch and time of a group by clicking & dragging the grey box that covers it. You can make small changes to the pitch by holding down Option/Alt while clicking & dragging it vertically. Depending on your machine and the number of notes in the Rip, there may be a small delay when editing the entire Rip. If this is the case, I recommend editing it in sections. You can change the length of the group by clicking & dragging the right edge of the grey box.

If an effect or sound has been applied to an entire layer or to the entire Rip, it's possible to hide the automation lane by clicking on the right side of the bar beneath it.
